How do you stick to the CE mark?
The CE marking must be visible, legible and indelible.
The CE marking must be the initial letter “CE”, the two letters must have the same position and must not be less than 5mm (unless specified differently in relevant material requirements).
If you want to reduce or increase the number of CE markings on your products, you must adhere to the ratio of the two letters. As long as the initials are visible, the CE marking can take different forms (e.g. coloured, solid or hollow).
If the CE marking cannot be affixed to the product itself, you can affix it to the packaging, or the accompanying documentation, if available. If your product is subject to multiple EU directives/regulations requiring the CE marking, the accompanying documentation must indicate that your product complies with all applicable Union EU directives/regulations.
Does CE marking have an expiration date?
The CE marking has no validity period. However, the EU Declaration of Conformity (DoC) required for the CE mark should be kept up to date. In the event that any element of the DoC changes, the version of the declaration must be updated. For example, changes may include changes to the code, the product, or the contact information of the manufacturer or authorized representative.
In the case of imported goods, the importer must ensure that DoC accompanies the goods and keep copies of the goods for 10 years after they are placed on the market.
