Step 1 – Understand GMP Requirements

Before starting, you must understand the five pillars of GMP:

Step 2 – Prepare Documentation

Documentation is the backbone of GMP certification. Auditors will first check your papers before they even see your machines.

What you need:

• SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures): Step-by-step rules for every process (machine cleaning, labeling, packaging).
  
• Quality manuals: Guidelines for company-wide standards.
  
• Records and checklists: Daily logs of cleaning, production, batch testing.
  

Mistake to avoid: Keeping everything only in English. Workers won’t understand and may ignore it. Always prepare Arabic-friendly checklists too.

Step 3 – Train Workers (Arabic Materials)

You can have the best SOPs in the world, but if workers don’t understand them, it’s useless. Training is where most companies fail.

Here’s how to succeed:

• Train in Arabic or local language.
  
• Use visual aids like posters with step-by-step pictures.
  
• Keep sessions short and practical (not long boring lectures).
  
• Give workers reminder cards with “Do’s & Don’ts” in Arabic.
  

 Example: Instead of saying “maintain cross-contamination control,” simply say: “Never mix raw material and finished product in the same area.”

Step 4 – Implement GMP in Daily Operations

This is where theory meets reality. Every day, every worker must follow GMP rules:

• Hygiene practices: Wash hands, wear gloves, masks, hairnets, and clean uniforms.
  
• Raw material handling: Label bags, store them in clean, dry places.
  
• Machine care: Clean and sanitize equipment after every shift.
  
• Packaging: Correct labeling (date, batch number, expiry) in both Arabic and English if needed.
  
• Waste management: Separate garbage, dispose properly.
  

Tip: Create color-coded bins for waste, and train workers with visual signs (red = hazardous, green = safe).

Step 5 – Conduct Internal Audits

Before calling the official auditor, test yourself.

• Use a self-inspection checklist in Arabic.
• Walk through the factory and ask: “If the auditor came now, would this pass?”
  
• Correct mistakes quickly.
  

Common issues found: expired raw materials, missing records, improper worker uniforms. Fix these before the real inspection.

Step 6 – External GMP Audit

Finally, the auditor will visit. They will:

• Inspect cleanliness and hygiene.
  
• Check worker knowledge (they may ask a worker about safety steps).
  
• Review records and SOPs.
